Which side of the shooting pad should I use? Does it matter? One side has the Hockey Shot logo , but the directions said to put the upward curl DOWN…… that would face the Hockey Shot logo on the UNDER side. I looked at videos & some show the logo up. I ‘ m CONFUSED 🤔!

Both sides of the Shooting Pad can be used as they are made of the exact same material. When you lay it out, you want the edges to curl downward, speeding up the time it takes to get flat. Once you've chosen a side to face upwards, it is recommended that you stick to that side each time you use it. Reason being - the bottom side will get scratched and scuffed from the ground, especially if playing on gravel or asphalt.

What size is ideal for an 8 year old boy?

The Junior Shooting Pad would be great for an 8 year old, however if you want some extra room to stickhandle and to grow into, we'd recommend going with the Intermediate Shooting Pad.

Can I add anything to help pucks slide better on the shooting pads?

Yes, Extreme Glide Polish may be used to help the puck slide better on the Shooting Pads. The Polish may be useful for regular 6 oz. pucks, but we do not recommend adding it for the Green Biscuit or FlyPuck. Be aware when adding the Polish to Shooting Pads, as the surface becomes very slippery and there is a danger of falling or getting injured.

Why is a Shooting Pad better than a piece of plexiglas from my local hardware store?

Our Shooting Pads are made from a special plastic formula similar to Synthetic Ice. The formula we use has been specifically designed for optimal off-ice hockey shooting and stickhandling practice. The materials we use are much better than cheap puck board or Plexiglas. Shooting Pads are UV protected, waterproof/weatherproof, and extremely durable.
